Irving came to Queens College with a significant  amount of experience in youth development
and higher education administration. His previous roles include being a youth development specialist, Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) counselor, academic advisor, residence hall director, summer camp coordinator, college counselor and as a case manager. Being a fluent Spanish speaker has served him well in the varied roles he has held in education.

Irving’s favorite job was as the Site Coordinator for a summer language program in Cadiz, Spain. Through this opportunity he was able to live and work on the southern coast of Spain for three consecutive summers. Currently, he is an aspiring photojournalist and Zen Buddhist.
