Bio:

Prior to joining the AAC at Queens College, Ivan was an admissions counselor at the College of Staten Island (CSI) where he completed his undergraduate studies. Before joining CSI Recruitment and Admissions, he worked as an academic advisor and provided academic advisement to liberal arts students. While completing his baccalaureate degree, he worked as a research assistant in two psychology research laboratories (psycholinguistics and gender & sexuality) and as a leader in the new student orientation program. 

Currently pursuing a doctoral degree in education, Ivan’s research interests include: sociology of education, perceived value of postsecondary education, international comparative education, education reforms (US & International), graduate and professional education preparation, organizational behaviors and assessments.

Ivan is a member of the Alpha Kappa Delta (AKD), the International Sociology Honors Society. Trained as a classical pianist, he holds certificates from the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music in Great Britain.

Ivan resides in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn.  He enjoys films, musicals, watching TV (Food Network, Travel Channel, BravoTV, and various sitcoms), reading, traveling and meeting new interesting people.
