Bio:

Before joining the staff of the Academic Advising Center at Queens College in May 2007, Julia held positions in a number of student life capacities at New York University, including academic advising, first year student orientation and programming, residence life, and undergraduate admissions. Additionally, while in graduate school, Julia completed a mental health counseling internship at the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising (LIM) College in Midtown Manhattan.

Julia enjoys working with and studying the college population. She is especially interested in: first year transition issues; first-generation college students; immigrant-origin students; and holistic methods for assisting students achieve academic success.

Having spent a semester abroad in Florence, Italy, Julia loves traveling and cooking. Her television is usually tuned in to the Food Network, and when not watching that she is often working on a crossword puzzle or taking a walk in Manhattan. Born and raised in Massachusetts, Julia is also an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox.
