The mission of the Advising Center is to graduate students by interpreting institutional policies and removing or minimizing road blocks to the baccalaureate degree. The Advising Center provides centralized advising services to all undergraduate students of Queens College through the clarification of degree requirements, leading to graduation.
Our goal is to provide students with a clear understanding of the academic requirements of Queens College and its subsequent impact on the selection of programs and classes. To achieve this, we:
- Assist students in developing an educational plan that includes a selection of courses which is based on their chosen major/minor, Primary College Competencies, Liberal Arts and Sciences Area Requirements, academic status and level of preparedness.
- Aid students in navigating Queens College's numerous offices/departments, so that they can utilize all of the resources the campus has to offer.
- Acquaint new students--freshmen and transfers--with Queens College’s degree requirements, registration procedures, payment deadlines, grading system, and other facets of college life that may impact their academic success.
