Career Exploration

Goal: Broadly explore career possibilities by investigating the general expectations of various professions, considering personal characteristics such as like, dislikes, values, preferences, talents & envisioning yourself in that career.

Activities:
  • Meet with a career counselor in Frese Hall 213 & take a value or interest inventory to start your exploration process

  • Conduct information interviews with a professional in a field that interest you

  • Create opportunities to learn more about different fields of work thought volunteer experiences- Contact the Office of Career Development & Internships in Frese Hall 213

  • Visit with faculty & advisors from different academic departments for more information on their majors

  • Attend the Career Fair/ Job Fair hosted by the Office of Career Development & Internships to connect with employers & learn more about Internships or employment opportunities

  • Secure an internship, related job, or volunteer experience during the year or for the summer. Register with the Office of Career Development & Internships to utilize their services
