Attention - Incoming QC Transfer Students!!

If you have been accepted to Queens College for the Fall 2008 semester – Congratulations!!  You have come to the right place for information on academic advisement and registration for your first semester at Queens College.

If you have not yet applied or wish to apply for admissions to Queens College, please contact the QC Undergraduate Admissions Office at 718-997-5614 for more information on application procedures and requirements.

Transfer Advising Workshops will provide information regarding the transfer credit evaluation process, academic degree requirements, major requirements and the online registration process.  Professional academic advisors will meet individually with new transfer students at the conclusion of each workshop.  New transfer students who wish to meet with an academic advisor must attend an advising workshop.

Beginning on March 31, 2008, you may call us to sign up for a transfer advising workshop.
Please call the new student phone line on Monday through Friday, between 9am and 5pm.
To reserve a seat in a workshop, please call the new student phone line at 718-997-5573.
You must reserve a seat with us in order to attend a transfer advising workshop.

PLEASE NOTE:

  1. Space is limited and available for new transfer students only.  We are unable to accommodate those who arrive late, guests, students who have not yet been admitted, or students who have not reserved a seat.
  2. After the required transfer presentation, students will be individually seen in the order of their arrival.  (See check-in time above)
  3. Students who wish to meet with an academic advisor must attend the entire session.
  4. Limited weekend appointments may be available for transfer advising.  Call the new student phone line for availability.

We offer the following academic advising options:
OPTION A: Advising and Registration Workshops (Daytime)
OPTION B: Advising-Only Workshops (Evening)
OPTION C: Weekend Transfer Advising (Limited & By Appointment)

Regardless of which option you choose to attend, be sure to bring the following to the workshop:

  1. Proof of immunization - Students with immunization stops cannot register for courses.  Most schools (including CUNY) do not automatically forward this information to Queens College.  Check your immunization before attending a workshop.  Contact Health Services at (718) 997-2760.  Faxed copies of immunization records are acceptable.  The fax number is (718) 997-2765.  Without immunization clearance, it will prevent you from registering for classes! Please Click Here for a blank immunization form.

  2. Copies of transcripts from all colleges and universities attended.  Not just the most recent.

  3. Your transfer credit evaluation(s) – Please note that it is difficult for advisors to accurately determine the coursework for which you should register without first reviewing your transfer credit evaluation(s).  See below for more information on transfer credit evaluations.

  4. A pen and a pad.

** Attention CUNY and Nassau Community College Transfer Students **
If you have received or are expecting to receive an associate’s degree from CUNY or Nassau Community College, please be sure to find out the associate degree type: Associate in Arts (AA), Associate in Science (AS), or Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree.  This piece of information is extremely important during the advising session.
