Department News and Events Departmental Seminar: Sep. 8 at 12:15 PM in RE101: "Having fun with nanoelectrodes" Prof. Michael Mirkin, Queens College. Student Award Winner Congratulations to Leah Rothman, a 2008 B.A. graduate of Queens College and recipient of the Jonas E. Salk Scholarship for 2008. The Salk Scholarship is one of the most prestigious awards available for graduates proceeding to medical school, and is based, in addition to the student's general record, on their accomplishments in scientific research. Leah has been a research student in the laboratory of Professor Engel for the past three years working on projects involved with ionic liquids and antimicrobial surfaces.
