The Program enjoys the expertise of an experienced faculty and adjunct teaching staff. Adjunct faculty have taught at many other institutions, including Hunter College, Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania, and New York University.

Tamara Evans is a scholar in modern German literature, and has written books on Robert Walser and Conrad Ferdinand Meyer as well as numerous articles on nineteenth and twentieth century German literature. She was co-director of a National Endowmnet for the Humanities grant to revise the curriculum in German within the CUNY system ("Designing, Teaching, Training, and Re-Training: A Model Curriculum in German from Zero Knowledge of the Language to Ph.D. Orals" 1995-1997). She has received various fellowships and awards for her research and teaching. Professor Evans is presently the Dean of Arts & Humanities at Queens College/CUNY.

Professor Spreizer received her Ph.D. and MA in German Literature from the University of Pennsylvania, and her BA in Economics from Mount Holyoke College. Her research interests include nineteenth and twentieth century German language, literature and culture. She has published a book on the Expressionist Walter Hasenclever, and articles on Expressionism, Wissenschaftsgeschichte, drama, and the use of multimedia technologies in the foreign language classroom. She has received National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), as well as PSC-CUNY grants for her research and teaching. Professor Spreizer teaches all undergraduate course levels and coordinates the language program, including the use of multimedia in the foreign language, literature, and culture classroom.
