Information
Literacy Goals
The
Faculty of the School Will:
- provide opportunities for students to familiarize themselves
with
the concepts and skills associated with print, computer, visual and
information literacy and the importance of these in society and library
and information environments, as well as the means by which these
concepts and associated skills can be used to communicate with library
users in a variety of settings.
The Students Will Be Expected To:
- be able to teach information literacy concepts and
skills at the appropriate level to their clientele.
- understrand the importance of literacy in today's society.
- be able to develop and/or locate support materials and
resources for teaching information literacy.
- exhibit appropriate literacy skills in their research and
course work.
- be prepared to instruct their clientele in the use of
information technologies.
