Registration Process

Students may register only after their program has been approved by a faculty member. Registration takes place in person at the Graduate School of Library and Information Studies office. Approved matriculated and non-matriculated students will receive instructions from the Graduate Admissions Office and the Graduate School of Library and Information Studies regarding dates and times.

Advisement & Pre-Registration

Spring Semester 2007 Pre-Registration and Advisement Schedule

Pre-registration/advisement for Continuing Matriculated Students will be held from October 18, 2006 to October 31, 2006. Pre-registration is the term that we use here at Queens College for "early registration." You MUST submit your completed and signed pre-registration permit to the GSLIS Office between October 16 and December 1, 2006. We will enter the data into the system after that date.

NO PHONE REGISTRATION, NO FAX SUBMISSIONS and NO EMAIL SUBMISSIONS. When you submit the pre-registration permit, you will receive a receipt.

Students with 18 or more credits completed by the end of December 2006: You MAY seek advisement about your Spring 2007 schedule.

Students with 15 credits or less completed by the end of December 2006: You MUST seek advisement about your Spring 2007 schedule. Your pre-registration permit MUST be signed by a full-time faculty member.

Please note: If you fail to follow these instructions, we may not be able to process your registration in a timely fashion.

We will give you your first choice, if possible. Your registration will be accepted in the following order: based 1) on the number of credits you have completed by December 2006 2) if you are taking 9 or more credits during the current semester and 3) from among those with the same number of credits, in the order received.

Some time after your registration is entered in the system, you will receive a tuition bill in the mail. Please follow the instructions that you receive from the Bursar for paying your bill; otherwise your registration will be canceled.

Newly matriculated students and non-matriculated students must wait until December 2006 to register for the Spring 2007 semester.
