Friends of the Center

In addition to campus-based activity, the Center actively encourages Queens Jewish Studies faculty to lecture off campus to community organizations and institutions.
It also coordinates Jewish Studies programs and cultural soirees in the more intimate setting of private homes in order to furnish a more leisurely and personal ambience for Jewish learning.

One of the Center's most recent initiatives is the creation of friends for the Center for Jewish Studies. This organization functions as a formal communal support group for Jewish Studies on the Queens College campus. The Friends group seeks to increase the visibility of Jewish Studies in the community and to assist the Jewish Studies Program and the Center in their many endeavors. Joining the Friends not only makes one an active stakeholder in the Queens College Jewish Studies enterprise, but also has added tangible benefits. Members of the Friends receive early notification of course offerings
and upcoming events, are sent all Center publications at no charge, and are privileged to attend special cultural functions designed exclusively for the Friends of the Center for Jewish Studies.
