Technology Questions

How do I login with my laptop?
You need a wireless card to connect to the campus network and the Internet, and a QC computer account to access library resources. Configuration settings can be found at OCT's Wireless Page.
Are all floors wireless?
Yes, all six levels are wireless so that you can use your laptop without having to plug it into an outlet. A complete wireless coverage map can be found at OCT's Wireless Page.
Can I access my e-mail account in the Library?
Use the Student Web Mail Access.
How do I get a Blackboard account?
Go to the The BlackBoard Course Management System.
Do you have scanners?
Our main scanner is located on Level One in the Media Center. Our other scanner is located on Level Three. Priority is given to students registered with QC Special Services.
Do you have fax machines?
The Copy Center at the Student Union has fax machines.

Media Questions

Where can I find videos, dvds, cds as well as borrow them?
First use CUNY+. Click on “Guided Search” and select the appropriate format under “Record Type”. For more information, visit the Media Center. Faculty can also borrow CDs, videos, and dvds from the Music Library. Students can check out circulating CDs for seven days, but they can only view music videos onsite.
My instructor put a dvd/video on reserve. How do I find it?

How do I get an account?

What is the CUNY portal?
The CUNY portal is a gateway to all things CUNY: College websites, information about applying to CUNY, registering for classes, events, campus directories, etc. For more information visit the CUNY portal site.

Directional Questions

How do I find the Rosenthal Library when I reach campus?
Find the code “RO” on the campus map.
Where is the Music Library?
The Music Library is located in the Aaron Copland School of Music building. Find the code “MU” on the campus map.
Where is the Art Library and Art Center?
They are both located on Level 6 of Rosenthal Library. Find the code “RO” on the campus map.
Where are the public phones?
You can find public phones in the Lobby.
Where can I find a place to eat on the weekends?
There are snack machines in the Lobby of Level Two. Books and Bytes Café is open from 9AM to 3PM on Saturday only. You also can find some restaurants on Kissena Blvd. within walking distance.
Where is the Bookstore?
Go to the basement of the Student Union. Their phone number is 718-997-3573.

Missing Book Questions

I looked all over for this book and I cannot find it. What shall I do?
Go to the Circulation Desk and request a search for the book.

Class Questions

How can I sign up for Library 100?
First, register through Quasar. If you need an overtally visit the Instructional Service Office in Rosenthal 224, Monday to Friday from 10AM to 2PM.
Where can I find a description of it?
Visit the Library Instruction page and click on the Library 100 Course.

Reference Questions

Do you have dramatic monologues?
Yes, many of them are on E-Reserve. Enter “Monologues” in the Title section or go to section PN2080 on the 5th floor to see what is available for a three-week loan.
How do I get my Masters thesis bound?
