Depending on the type of statistical information you seek, you may need to search government documents. 

If you need a quick fact you may want to consult our 'ready reference' section of the Information/Reference desk (ie, The World Almanac and Book of Facts, a yearly publication). 

Longer and more detailed requests for statistical information (ie, the census) may require you to search online.
