Psychology 708.1: Basic Neuroanatomy
  • 2 lecture hours, conference, 3 credits
  • Prerequisites: At least 15 undergraduate credits in Psychology, including Psychological Statistics and a laboratory course in Experimental Psychology

The neuroanatomical portion of the course introduces the structure and anatomy of human and rodent brains, describing gross neuroanatomy, organization and pathways of the spinal cord, cranial nerves, hindbrain, midbrain, forebrain, cerebral and cerebellar cortices, as well as organization of the limbic system, thalamus, hypothalamus and basal ganglia. Correlations with behavior are made.
