Longtime Men's Tennis Coach Alan Landes highlighted the honorees at the 2007 Queens College Athletic Department Awards Dinner held on May 17, 2007. The nearly 300 people in attendance were shown a short film on the career of Coach Landes before he was honored for his 27 years at the helm of the Knights Tennis team. In his 27 year career, Alan's teams won 342 matches and earned six NCAA bids, reaching the round of 32 in both 2005 and 2006. His teams also won six conference titles before joining the N.Y.C.A.C. in 1993. That same season Alan was named N.Y.C.A.C. Coach of the Year as his team captured the conference's inaugural Men's Tennis crown. Landes also won Coach of the Year awards in 2003 (Eastern Tennis Association) and 2004 (Intercollegiate Tennis Association - East).
In total, seventy three awards were handed out to the student-athletes including the Silver Knight, which is bestowed upon the top performers of the year. This award also takes into consideration the athlete's sportsmanship and off the field contributions. Dominka Bajuk was the winner on the women's side while Bradd Wierzbicki and Wojciech Stuchlik shared the men's award. All three were repeat winners from 2005-2006.
Bajuk was named E.C.C. Women’s Tennis Player of the Year, the third straight season in which she won the award. Her dramatic three set win against Concordia in the E.C.C. Team Championship finals clinched the Lady Knights' fifth consecutive conference championship and another NCAA Regional bid.
Both Wierzbicki and Stuchlik were named E.C.C. Players of the Year in their respective sports for the second consecutive year. Wierzbicki, who also repeated as the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Player of the Year, finished his Knights career sixth on the all-time scoring list with 1686 points. Stuchlik led his tennis team to an NCAA regional bid and concluded the 2006-20076 season ranked 27th in all of Division II in singles and 9th in doubles.
