Head Coach
A native of Brooklyn, New
York, Greg graduated from Midwood
High School where he ran track and
cross country and was named team captain as a senior. After graduating in 1975,
he moved on to Queens College,
earning a degree in Sociology in 1979. At QC, Greg lettered in track and cross
country for four years, specializing in the half-mile and the one thousand
meters.
Upon his graduation from Queens, Greg became a police officer with the New York Police Department. He worked in both Brooklyn and Manhattan where he was assigned to patrol, anti-crime and narcotics. After almost 21 years, Greg retired from the force after the tragic events of 9/11, having reached the rank of Sergeant.
On returning to athletics, the father of two college aged children said,” Although I have not been active in the sport in recent years, I haven’t forgotten how to do it; and upon being given the opportunity to return as a coach, I am excited to take on the responsibility. I believe that track is like everything else in the world, what you put into it is what you will get in return.”
