2005 Season
Standout Knights senior Jason Octave, who won two Player of the Week awards in 2005, has been named second team All-EIVA. Octave helped the Knights to a 19-7 overall record and a tie for first in the Hay Division of the EIVA.
The 6'4" native of Castries, St. Lucia led the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association in kills per game (5.27) and points per game (6.03) while placing ninth in digs and tenth in kill percentage. Nationally, he was third in kills per game and points per game and 16th in digs per game.
Octave's teammate, Angel Capellan, was also named to the EIVA All-Academic team. A junior, the native of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic currently sports a 3.91 GPA with a major in Spanish.
A seven hour van ride went for naught as the Knights lost a game and, in the process, first place to St. Francis, 25-30, 23-30, 30-28, 24-30, in Pennsylvania on Saturday afternoon. Although both teams ended the regular season with identical 10-2 conference records, St. Francis claims first place in the Hay division on the basis of point differential. St. Francis outscored Queens by five points in their two meetings this season.
Jason Octave had 27 kills and eight blocks to lead QC while Neal Octave added 14 kills and John Calderon handed out 63 assists in the Knights season ending loss.
