Ray "Skip" Johnson

Ray (Skip) Johnson, Jr. is a tenured Professor and Acting Chair of the Psychology Department and a member of the doctoral faculty at the CUNY Graduate Center.  He obtained his doctorate degree in Biological Psychology from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and, after a Post-Doctoral position in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences in the Stanford University School of Medicine, he spent 12 years in the Neurology Institute of the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.  He is presently an Associate Editor of Cortex and previously served as an Associate Editor for Psychophysiology , as well as having served on the Editorial Boards of the International Journal of Psychophysiology and the  Handbook Of Neuropsychology . He has a US Patent, edited three books and authored or co-authored 80 scientific papers and chapters.  His research involves using event-related brain potentials to study the brain mechanisms underlying a variety of cognitive processes, ranging from short- and long-term memory to deception and the neural bases of the self.
