Preregistration for English Majors

Once every semester, the department sends out a letter inviting all English majors in for preregistration. Preregistration, which usually occurs in the seventh week of the semester, is the college’s way of making sure that students majoring in a department are able to register for the courses they need before anyone else can get in. The English department’s policy is that in the fall, students may preregister for three spring-semester courses, and in the spring, for two summer-and three fall-semester courses. We strongly advise you to see a full-time faculty member for advisement before preregistering, and that you do use the opportunity to preregister, to ensure that you are not close out of courses that you will need to complete the English major.
