1. English for Basic Beginners - ES100

This course is for students who have little or no knowledge of English. The course will focus on survival English and basic listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.

2. English for Reading and Writing - ES101

(ES101/1) Beginning, (ES101/2) Low-Intermediate and (ES101/3) Intermediate Levels

These courses assume a basic knowledge of reading and writing beyond the level of "English for Basic Beginners.". The course will focus on reading, writing, and grammar. Students will register for the appropriate level after a placement test.

This course will stress those areas of the grammar which give even advanced- level students problems, such as the tenses and complex sentence grammar.

7. English for Listening and Speaking - ES102

(ES102/1) Beginning, (ES102/2) Low-Intermediate and (ES102/3) Intermediate Levels

This course will focus on using English for fluent speaking and listening including the use of grammar and vocabulary, idioms, and pronunciation. Language laboratory classes are included in this course. Students will register for the appropriate level after taking a placement test. It is recommended that students take this course with ES101 English for Reading and Writing.

Advanced Level

This course is for students whose command of English is good but who lack fluency in speaking English. The course will focus on expanding vocabulary, idioms, and grammar, and will provide opportunities for practice in communicating more clearly.

11. Better Pronunciation - ES205

Advanced Level

For students already fluent in spoken English who wish to improve their speech and have less accent. The course will focus on English sounds, stress and intonation and will include both group and individual practice.

Intermediate Level

This course will provide intermediate students with the skills they need to communicate effectively in person, on the phone or in writing with customers, co-workers and supervisors.

Advanced Level

A course designed to give advanced students the necessary skills and strategies to successfully handle a variety of business situations in English. All four skills - listening, speaking, reading and writing - will be covered.

14. TOEFL Preparation - ES500

Advanced Level

For advanced students intending to go on to university or college study. This course will prepare students for the TOEFL examination. It will include practice in the various parts of the test and an understanding of how the examination is structured.
