First Lieutenant George William Genner served in the US Army Air Forces in the 344th Bomb Squadron, 98th Bomb Group (heavy). While serving with the 344th in Florence, Italy, Genner was killed in action on 8th of March 1945. Awarded the Purple Heart, the World War II Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal, Genner's name can be found at the Tablets of the MIssing in Florence, Italy at the FLorence American Cemetery.
