Jeb Patton

Jeb Patton has recorded and toured throughout the United States and abroad as the pianist with the Heath Brothers, Jimmy Heath's Generations Quintet, the Charles McPherson Quartet, the Sachal Vasandani Quartet, the Dmitry Baevsky Quartet, the Winard Harper Sextet, as well as with his own trio. Jeb has also performed with a variety of luminaries and top ensembles including Percy Heath, Tootie Heath, the Jimmy Heath Big Band, the Dizzy Gillespie Alumni Big Band, the Carnegie Hall Jazz Band, Village Vanguard Big Band, Etta Jones, Jessye Norman, Barbara Cook, Roberta Gambarini, Antonio Hart, Rodney Green, David Wong, Peter and Will Anderson, Jimmy Cobb, Lewis Nash, Billy Drummond, George Coleman, James Moody, Maurice Peress, Coleridge Taylor Perkinson, the Broadway musical, "After Midnight," and the New York Philomusica to name a few. His arrangements have been performed by the Heath Brothers, Jessye Norman, Emanuel Ax, Lang Lang, The Jimmy Heath Big Band, Sachal Vasandani, The Duke University Big Band, and the UNC Chapel Hill Big Band.

Jeb Patton’s latest recording, Preludes, is due to be released later in 2022. His two previous CDs: Tenthish and Shades and Tones were released on the Cellar Live Label in 2018 and 2016 respectively. His debut CD, New Strides, was released on the MAXJAZZ label in 2009. Sher Music has published three books by Jeb Patton: Introduction to Jazz Piano, A Deep Dive (2020); Jeb PattonAn Approach to Comping Vol. 1: The Essentials (2013) and An Approach to Comping Vol. 2: Advanced Concepts and Technique (2016). Jeb also teaches piano, ear training, transcription, jazz piano for non-pianists, arranging, and improvisation at Queens College, City College, and Five Towns College.
