Bruce Norris has had a diversified career as accompanist, voice teacher, vocal coach and assistant conductor. For more than twenty years he has maintained a private voice studio in New York City. His students currently perform leading roles at the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera, and in major opera houses throughout the world. He is a former member of the voice faculty of New York University and the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. Previously, Mr. Norris served as an assistant conductor and coach at New York City Opera, the Santa Fe Opera, the Manhattan School of Music, the International Opera Center in Zurich, Switzerland and the Aspen Music Festival. As an accompanist he toured the U.S. extensively with artists such as Rosalind Elias, Theodore Uppman and the New York City Opera Quartet. As a pianist he has been a soloist with the Cleveland Orchestra, the Sewanee Summer Music Festival Orchestra and the Nashville Youth Symphony. Mr. Norris is currently the organist for the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. He is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music.
