Mark Anson-Cartwright is a music theorist specializing in music of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. His current research focuses on the vocal music of J.S. Bach. He has presented many papers at national and international conferences, and has published articles in numerous journals, including Music Analysis, Music Theory Spectrum, The Journal of Music Theory, and Eighteenth-Century Music. He holds a Ph.D. from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, and he previously taught at Hofstra University. He is also the former editor of the music journal Theory and Practice.
