   Jane Lindamood

Biographical Information:
Jane Lindamood completed her Doctor of Education in Music Education at Teachers College, Columbia University. She received her Bachelor of Music Education from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI, and her Master of Education with a concentration in Arts in Education, from Harvard University. Her scholarly research focuses on the use of folk, jazz, and popular music in school string orchestra programs, and has presented her research at the College Music Society International Conference in Seoul, South Korea (2012) and the International Council for Traditional Music in St. Johns, Canada (2012).

Dr. Lindamood was a highly successful teacher of middle and high school orchestras for ten years, and her high school orchestra was selected to perform for then Texas First Lady Laura Bush at a special Main Street America reception in 1999.

At the Aaron Copland School of Music she has taught Music for Children (MUS261), a course focused on integrating music into elementary classroom instruction, as well as undergraduate music education courses. She assists with the placement and supervision of student teachers.
