Queens College Collegium

The Queens College Collegium is an ensemble of singers and instrumentalists, specializing in the music of the Middle Ages, Renaissance and early Baroque periods. The ACSM has a fine collection of medieval, Renaissance and Baroque instruments, and students can learn to play one of the ancestors of their modern instruments in re-creating the music of the twelfth through seventeenth centuries.

The Collegium is directed by Prof. Susan Hellauer, a founding member of the early-music vocal ensemble Anonymous 4, who have sold more than 1.5 million medieval music cds worldwide. She is ably assisted by Dongmyung Ahn, an accomplished professional Baroque violinist, and a Ph.D. candidate in musicology at the CUNY Graduate Center. Ms. Ahn also plays rebec (medieval fiddle) and harpsichord.

There is at least one performance per semester on campus. Rehearsals are held weekly on Wednesday, 4:30 - 7:15 pm, at the ACSM. Contact the ACSM office for more information, or email the director.
