Philosophy may be taken under the auspices of the College's Interdisciplinary and Special Studies Program. These tutorials may be taken for one, two, or three credits. Forms for registering for them may be obtained in the program's office in Kiely Hall 1107.

An individualized tutorial is normally taken with an instructor with whom one has already done some regular course work; the tutorial is for focusing in greater depth on a topic that has come up in the course work and that one finds especially interesting.

Reading and writing assignments for the tutorial, as well as arrangements for office discussions, are worked out between the student and the instructor. If you would like to take a tutorial, it would be best to ask permission of the instructor well before the beginning of the semester in question.
