• Prerequisites: At least 15 undergraduate credits in Psychology, including Psychological Statistics and a laboratory course in Experimental Psychology

Modern psychological problems are seen in historical perspective. Topics include the mind-body problem,motivation, and empiricism, hedonism and reinforcement,hypnotism and spiritualism, psychophysiology and psychopathology. The nineteenth and twentieth century schools of psychology - structuralism, functionalism, Gesalt, psychoanalysis, and behaviorism are reviewed as are the contributions of philosophers and physical, biological, and social scientists.
