SCIENCE TEACHER CAREERS (STC)
Queens College of the City University of New York has
developed Science Teacher Careers (STC), which together with the Science Education program of SEYS, meets the critical
need for certified High School Science Teachers of biology,
chemistry, physics, and earth science (geology) in New York City. We admit
applicants working toward their initial teaching certifications: undergraduates as well as post-baccalaureates and we especially
encourage women and minority applicants.
To participate in the program, you must apply to Science Teacher Careers (a jointly administered program of the Science Division and SEYS)
and also apply to enter Queens College. (refer to STC Application).
As an STC participant you will receive dual-advisement and counceling by STC and the Science Education Program of SEYS, for the science and education course
sequences needed to become a New York State certified high school science teacher.
