AAFCS is the National Association for Professionals in Family and Consumer Sciences. The American Family & Consumer Sciences Association (AAFCS) is a scientific and educational association of professionals and students. Its mission is to improve the quality of life for families. The American Family & Consumer Sciences Association functions on local, state, and national levels.

All students in Family and Consumer Science Program are invited to be part of AAFCS Club.

AAFCS Club

            A successful college experience includes academic excellence complemented by meaningful extracurricular activities. Being part of the AAFCS Club will provide you with guidance and support in becoming a well rounded Family and Consumer Science professional.

Be a member of the AAFCS Club in order to:

• Develop communication and social skills
• Meet new people
• Develop leadership skills
• Participate in activities
• Begin building a network of professional contacts for future career opportunities
• Grow in professionalism by learning to participate cooperatively, take initiative, and assume responsibility
• Interact with faculty outside of class environment
• Make friends; Have Fun

• Student and Faculty Welcome Back Party (with the other Clubs)
• Monthly Meetings
• Guest Speakers
• Student Outreach Activities - promote the Family and Consumer Sciences Major
