Robert Goldberg is a tenured Professor in the Department
of Computer Science and is also a member of the doctoral faculty at the Graduate
Center. He holds a doctorate degree in Computer Science from the Courant Institute
of New York University, which he attended under an Office of Naval Research
Fellowship and worked on the research staff in their Robotics Laboratory.
He is an alumni of Queens College and holds baccaulearate degrees with honors
in Computer Science and Mathematics from the college. He serves on the editorial
board of the International Journal of Intelligent Hybrid Systems and the review
board of the ACM Computing Reviews journal. He also co-edited a series of
Special Issues on Developmental Mathematics for the Mathematics and
Computer Education journal under a joint grant from the FIPSE program (US-DOE),
co-authored a
book on Multiobjective Optimization published this summer by
Springer-Verlag, London, and published three chapters on the topic of genetic
algorithms and numerous articles in computer science
topics, such as biomedical imaging and computational theory. Robert has mentored
over seventy students at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels.
His doctoral students have all satisfactorily defended their dissertations
atthe CUNY Graduate Center and currently hold positions at various universities
in the Metropolitan area.
